Yes he's right it's definitely an entry level game and in summary if you like story-driven and turn based rpg with good soundtracks, it's definitely an experience and one should embark on this epic game, it's one of my favourite games and stayed in my heart

Playing it in 2024, i remember it being my favourite as a kid (i was/am obsessed with monkeys) I'd always thought i completed it but i only remember disk 1 so i suspect i'm experiencing my first play through of my favourite childhood game 😅

Ffx is my favorite of the whole frnachise... The combat, the story, everything. It even has replayability because it has two spgere grids in it. And so many possibilities for challenges... That in all honesty could be fun.

Ok... so i played thru ff10 and ff10 x2 back when they came out.... im 48 yr now.. I bought ff9 the last week and today i finished it: took 32h. I almost ragequitted 5 times, due to not finding where to go... lack of savespots... puzzles.... (had to bite the bullet and find a step by step guide.. i dont have the same patience i once had...) At times the story fell flat... but i was surprised by the ending (nice). Luckily, i by accident discovered early on that within the config menu, i could enable "infinite" gold etc etc. So i basically just melee 9999 hitted everything (but had to heal, ress etc here and there on later fights: lots of very lucky bossfights). Im too old for this... i realise... these kind of games... gonna stick to watching "the last 2h of cutscenes movie" from now on. *played on nintendo switch. Sidenote: Games id recommend: Vampire survivors. Advance wars 1+2: re-boot camp.

While I love the story, this game really shines in the post game in my opinion, really the majority of the final fantasy series is like this and it’s one of my favorite attributes of the series

FFIX will be worth playing even in 2122. Other parts like VII might be better games overall but FFIX is the best at being a "Final Fantasy" game.

The best final fantasy game ever. Soundtrack is amazing. Everything so beautifully done. Have playing it again and again across console.. still playing it on switch. I don't mind it slow and grafic not perfect but whole package still the best. Waiting for the remake.

Most annoying thing for me is whether you like it or not, Seymour is the main character that successfully made Tidus and Yuna's love story become the greatest ever. The drama and plot settled by Seymour has made Tidus and Yuna's bond grows stronger and reach to our hearts. This game is a legend

I was amazed by Final Fantasy 7 Remake and maybe I shouldn’t be surprised that Crisis Core is harder than 7 because of the gameplay is really different.

Ive waited to play X because its one of the most hyped behind VII. X2 not X-2 is my favorite. 7 was high tier but didnt hit the way I was expecting. I love X so much because of the mage classes.

I played through all of the PS1 Final Fantasy games in 2022. By far and above, IX is the best of them in my opinion. If you've never played it, do yourself a favour and do so.

FFX is worth playing any year...until the remake

I'm going to need to give this another shot at some point. I always hear people talking about how great it was. I played it back around release, and it never captured me the way 7, 8, and later 6 did. But I wonder if that's because I had been playing almost exclusively JRPGs for about four or five years at that point and I was just burned out on the genre.

This game never gets old. This game is timeless.

I just wish the dlc was integrated into the main game, and that the last campfire scene(among a few others) were shown in their canonical place instead of in whichever random spots that the director felt was "artsy".

I remember waiting the entire game for the option to control all the characters in battle. The game's structured like a long tutorial so i just expected that a bunch of traditional FF features would eventually pop up. But they never did! If there was some way to know what to expect going in, i feel like this game would've been received better!

Is this a real question? Bro, FF9 was the most nostalgic FF game at the point it came out. It pulled FROM EVERYTHING (except FF VIII, no one like's that game) and made one of the greatest FF games. I would tie it with FF VI only because of graphical differences.

i played this game with 6 or 7 years. i finished it and remember i cried after yuna say i love you. just by watching this video all that emotions comes up. as a child and as a adult. the felling of this game is the same after 22 years

Personally I‘ve never managed to get into FFX - the characters are decent, the visuals are gorgeous, but the whole thing never coalesced into a complete setting for me and just remained a vague series of moments instead. Which is fine enough as it is, but when pretty much every game in the series I had played before this (7-9) did manage to completely capture both my attention and imagination and this one didn’t, I can‘t help but be disappointed. Glad people love it so much of course! Just wish I was one of 'em.

This game is timeless, you will be able to play it in 2099 and it will still be a journey. Future generations will remake some of these games over and over and over again. A great story will never die!

That's a fair summation, it doesn't excel in any particular area but is just a really tight package. That said I think the art direction and music really are both 10/10, and finally realised the full potential of PS1 tech. For me the biggest problem with FF9 was that it lacked the immediate hook at the start of the game that FF6, FF7 and FFX had for me. The first time I played it I didn't really "get" it. However, the PS1 disk I was playing on was scratched and I had to start over again on an emulator. Playing through disk 1 a second time with more familiarity and context really made me appreciate it and feel far more invested in the story.

TBH, FF6,8,9 are my top classic JRPG games I've ever played. People may hate my opinion but i don't really care. I like what I like.

This is the worst FF game between 7-10. 8 was mid. 7 &10 are legendary.

I hated this game. A big part to me for a final fantasy is the open world exploration. I just can’t get passed that.

The biggest issue with this game-there’s a mini game where you chose instruments for a party. If you chose all romantic instruments, then squall and rhinoa have a major character development moment that furthers there relationship and is referenced later. If you don’t pick it, they seem to become lovers out of nowhere and the game will reference this scene that never happened. Also I always leveled my characters to level 100. Never had an issue with the monsters getting too tough. I just keep squall near dead. Other two characters at full life as tanks. If squall dies than Phoenix down him. That brings him back but barely. Then just keep doing limit breaks and wait for lionheart to activate. Instant KO. The only time this was an issue what ultima and omega weapons-but they are optional bosses. There’s an item that makes you invincible to fight them.

As a teenager when this game came out, the issue wasn’t it was a ps1 game. The ps2 played ps1 games and we all played ps1 games on it. Especially when the ps2 first dropped. The main issue was it looked cute and everyone wanted gritty like 7 or realistic like 10. Everyone who did play it mostly wrote it off that cutesy one aimed at kids. I was one of the few people who loved it (only one among my friends-none of whom liked it).
